All quiet on the western front or a separate peace...I don't like war books.
we have to read to kill a mockingbird in 8th grade and I am not looking forward to it after summer.

All my friends in eighth grade says it was awful but I have a summer to think about it
Lord of the Flies is arguably my favorite book of all time, and the only novel with passages I could recite word-for-word.The only books I absolutely hated were A Tale of Two Cities (really anything by Dickens) and The Odyssey.

I couldnt get through a tale of two cities. That book nearly was the death of my love for classics. You can't beat a Christmas carol though. Love that story!

i think you can still buy the cd but i don't know i got it along time ago
Hahaha, pretty soon I think CDs will be as out of date as the VHS. :P but it'd definitely be worth looking up. :)
yea i have alot of vids that i loved when i was younger and i stil watch them on vhs
haven't read beowulf or heart of darkness - loved all of the other choices
The Odyssey, Madame Bovary, The Kite Runner, and Frankenstein. I disliked reading The Lord of the Flies and Beowulf, but not nearly as much as those previously stated. My classes did not require most of those listed, though I would have much preferred them.
It's a tie between "Silas Marner" by George Eliot and "My Antonia" by Willa Cather.
My favorites were "Black Boy" by Richard Wright and "A Lesson Before Dying" by Ernest J. Gaines.
Sprite Downberry by Nette Hilton. If there was ever a book not to read, it would be this one. It was fairly torturous when I read it in year 7. I managed to not finish it and also write a failed essay on it as well.
The House on Mango Street was pretty bad. So was The Pearl..
Stone Cold. My gosh, I despise that book.
Silas Marner. Ugh just TERRIBLE book.
I was so excited for Catcher in the Rye and I wanted to crawl in a hole and die half way through. Although, House of Seven Gables was a close second...
Frederick Douglass, The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass. I hated that book!
All Quiet on the Western Front. . . I just could not get interested in it.

It's kind of a tie...but I would say Chinese Cinderella or Night...why do they make us read such depressing "literature" for school? To build character or something?? Geez...

I really didn't like The Great Gatsby. There was something about it that made it the only book that I have ever resorted to skimming and reading online synopses. I also didn't like I am the Cheese.
I found it very confusing and hard to follow at the time. I also hated the teacher that assigned it, so that could have something to do with it too.
