Kirsten OMG! Whose Body is SO good!! However, I'm rooting for Charley because... hey, it's a doggie!!

Jon The Bell Jar appeals to me, mainly because I am a Type I diabetic who survives with insulin injections. That only matters because The Bell Jar apparently includes Sylvia Plath's ordeal with ICT (insulin coma treatment). That's right folks. They induced her to go into hypoglycemic coma and then revived her numerous times.

This is beyond scary. Even beyond horrible. I have had too many close calls with death caused by hypoglycemia myself. I would take my chances with witch doctors before submitting to that.

Jon, I am very sorry you had to endure such a horrific experience. Do take care of yourself. Enjoy Reading, 📚

Thanks, La Tonya. Bad hypoglycemic reactions are just the normal course of events that I have dealt with for 60 years. By stabilizing blood glucose levels, diabetics can avoid the worst reactions. Most of the time, that is. Some are just unavoidable.

If Plath underwent those induced reactions, then that means they wanted her to go into coma to shock her system. Scary as hell, I think.

Sylvia Ward I read Bell Jar several years ago when I was in my 20s. It will be interesting to read it again as a 50+ year old. Actually, I'd be glad to read any of this month's nominations.
