Why I think Hermione wouldn't win this battle: because she doesn't seem willing to kill. Throughout the novels, I am 99% certain that she doesn't kill a single person. However, she is my favorite in the list.

maybe because Hermione didn't need to kill in other confrontations. Perhaps if her survival or that of someone she cared about was on the line and no one else to help, she could and would kill. Some in this conversation say it does not have to be a fight to the death. Either way Hermione wins.
Annabeth, Hermione, and Tris, might be some of my favorite Ya heroines, but i have to bet on Celaena or Katsa. Katsa's grace is technically survival and Celeana is part fey so they are the makings of an epic showdown

Hermione, remember has magic. One word or gesture and you are done. Being a good fighter, a graceful fighter, a whatever kind of fighter, doesn't compete with magic. Just saying.

She isn't like Katsa or Celeana.Both of them are trained to kill and have some form of magic on there side, whether if is being part fey or Katsa's grace. Hermione is just a witch. That doenst make her any less awesome but Katsa and Celaena have the advantage here in my opinion
Hermione is "just a witch?" Really? She doesn't need to fight or have the skills the others have because she can stop them with one word or gesture. She has magic. Not a specific magic but magic for anything.

Hermione only needs a word. Unless your gal with the fey magic is not human she could die many ways, strike to heart, beheading for instance, just like Hermione would die by those means....if you could get to her before she uttered a word of magic to stop you.
Good point, Hermione does only need a second. But, Celaena's fire magic only needs a second too. And so do some of the other contenders. And, because Celaena's fae she's got some pretty OP reflexes. Also, her magic is, surprise surprise in a book about fighting, very good for fighting with. Both Hermione's and Celaena's magic types are so different but both tremendously powerful, so I think there'd be a stalemate.
Hermione and Rose !!! I wanna make them as a team. But they won't like it for sure.

I think it's between Celaena and Katsa. I'm not sure who would win though because Elena is looking out for Celaena and Katsa has her grace

Aerin! She would totally win against all these book characters. Modern book characters just don't seem to have as much kick-ass as older book characters.
Oh my gosh! We have an actual wizard in the mix who uses magic in a fraction of a second and could do what she wanted to any of these "strongkick-ass" Characters. Hermione could take any of them.
I think the trouble is that many of these heroines have magic that can be used in an instant - they're all kickass girls, that's probably why the poll-creator chose them.Also, I doubt anyone here has read all the books on the list, so people who've only read widely known stuff automatically vote for Katniss and Tris, those magic-less girls who are fine in their own universes but would probably not win in one with magic.
I agree Hermione is amazing, has won battles, etc etc. However, nearly all of these girls have.

Bella is a strong vampire. I think they are referring to her specific talent which putting up a protective shield which is actually nothing to dismiss. She can shield herself and a group.

Ok I love a lot of these characters but, when you think about the question, Katsa is literally born to fight people. She can literally kill people with her own two hands. I'm not saying shes my favorite or whatever, just that she has the capability of fighting anything and winning.

Some people don't even know any other female characters here besides Hermione, Annabeth, etc. I'm sorry, but just because you know them the best or something DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THEY WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT. It just bugs me that people pick (for example, Hermione) because they're biased. I like Hermione too, but let's be real here. Katsa's power is literally killing/surviving. Out of this poll, my favorite character is Aelin (Celaena Sardothien). But I didn't vote for her, I voted for Katsa because she is the woman who makes most sense.I got a little bit overboard, and I apologize. But my point still stands.

I think Katniss, Tris, and Celaena would be the most deadly, as they are quick to kill if they feel threatened. Annabeth and Hermione easily have just as much skill and fighting strenghth, but they also have compassion, and would not necessarily be able to fight and kill as quickly and ruthlessly as Katniss, Tris and Celaena. Ailleana is insanely powerful, but doesn't usually fight humans. She is however very ruthless and strong, so she would be a formidable opponent.One Bella would probably not do too much damage, but an army of almost anything is dangerous. It's fun to think about, but there's too many possible outcomes.
I am not sure why Katniss is listed here... she would not last a minute in a fight with the rest of them, she's not that kind of heroine.

This poll seems amazingly shallow to me and I cringe every time I see it.
I may not have read all the books here but from whatever I read I feel like the final battle will be between Katsa and Celaena. I'm 100% sure it won't be Hermione because she isn't much of a fighter without her wand. I can see how it will go, taking Celaena as Aelin, she will throw a wall of fire at Hermione and Hermione will Block with a shield and then before she can cast another spell Aelin will appear out of the flames and burn or knock her want out of her hand. Game over. But I can't really decide between Katsa and Celaena, But I think it'll most probably be Celaena/Aelin.
Celaena, no doubt. She has been trained as an assassin, and can kill without blinking an eye. (An army of Bellas? Really? xD)

I’m not trying to start a fight. I highly disliked Graceling and Katsa as well. However, I liked The Hunger Games and Katniss. It doesn’t change the fact that Katsa would definitely K.O. Katniss.
I mean, come on. Many of the other heroines on this list have magic and/or are enhanced by magic. Katniss is just a decent archer. She doesn’t even like to fight.
Personally, I think Aelin Ashryver “I am a god” Galathynius would come out on top.

Bella as vampire has a chance actually utleast on Katniss and Tris since they are complitly human with no special powers she loses to Rose though since Rose fought vampires that are strong and powerful to Katsa since she has fighting superpower and Celeana since shes a magical creature
