Chisom I also see how Bella could be big in this fight. I mean if you consider her as a vampire and technically in her world only werewolves and other vamps could kill her, she has a pretty good chance of beating many many girls on this list. Even the biggest bet, Hermione. Bella can protect herself from any magic thrown at her. And if she was a vamp, she could still easily take her down.

message 52: by Alice (last edited Jun 10, 2015 10:19PM) (new)

Alice With the army of bella's are they vampire or human bella? Because that's going to impact my choice... If the Bella's are human Hermione will win. If they're vampires Hermione won't be quick enough.

message 53: by Cindy (new)

Cindy E. I'm not choosing Bella because I have't read all the books BUT has someone consider that an army of Bellas could be an army of new born vampires?

I agree 100%

message 55: by Shari-anne (new)

Shari-anne I wanted to go with Hermoine but she really isn't the fighting type so I went with Rose from Vampire Academy because she really does have alot of experience in fighting.

message 56: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd Mackenzie Hermione, definitely. Every spell she has memorised and she has the advantage of range. Avada Kedavra all them b*tches. I wonder if she could Avada Kedavra MAXIMA?! Lol!

message 57: by Renee (new)

Renee I think Celaena would beat Katniss. Katniss isn't as experienced and I think Celaena is more ruthless and has that practised precision. Then again, maybe not as many people know Celaena as Katniss. *shurg*

Bagus Santoso who pick army of bellas lol
hermione ftw

She wouldn't aim to kill.

Bella is not my favorite, but you can look at it in 2 ways. Is she suisidal, or does she want to live forever? Bella would also be a fierce fighter if she was protecting someone she loves. That being said, Hermionie only needs a half second to cast a stunning spell, which she could do non-verbally, then finish them off at her leisure.

Wouldn't grace be magic? I haven't read that one,but I am assuming she is an Angel? If wizards don't get their magic in the fight than Demi Gods and Angels would have to give up their powers and be mortal. In that case I might choose Allana. She trained to fight since she was little. But I would assume everyone gets their powers so it would be hermionie as long as she had time to do a stunning spell. She could do a memory charm and make the person forget they were fighting.

message 62: by Lisha (new)

Lisha Keatings I voted for Tris out of these girls, but I would have chosen Juliette from Shatter Me Series if it had been there!

message 63: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Marie wrote: "Hermione would totally win, but why do more people think Katniss would win against Celaena? Celaena is a freaking assassin. Sure Katniss has killed people, but she's not a trained killer like Celaena."

Yeah, but from what I read about Celaena in the first book she wasn't at all what she was cracked up to be. Maybe that was just bad writing on the authors part, because we never got to see what made Celaena so dangerous to be infamous at such a young age. What we do see is her fretting over clothes, men, and finally stupid ghost/monster-dodads. Had we seen the determination and skill we were promised I may have had an higher opinion of her, but I just couldn't get over the lack of anything we see from her. I only liked the part where she befriends that girl (I don't recall entirely, I believe she was some sort of princess?), everything else just annoyed me to pieces.
Although, Katniss, in my opinion, became a weaker character after the first book so maybe Celaena could have shown her supposed skills and done away with her quite efficiently..

(Shoot, I just realise how much of a tangent i went on. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, but her wasted potential in that book just got me raging when I was younger and all those feels just came back to me seeing people post that C. would be able to win.)
And I totally agree, Hermione would win hands frickin' down :')

message 64: by Auriane (new)

Auriane First I thought of Hermione because she's got her magic talents and knows perhaps every spell. People with magic talents are more likley to win than people without magic, so Katniss ist out as is Tris (Tris doesn't even have particular skills and I won't talk about Bella, as a vampire she might have some defensive skills, but ... absolutly no!)
Annabeth might be demigod but she has no special powers except for her heritage beeing Athene's daughter.
Katsa has her gift but no special magic talent which she can use in a fight, so I think she would loose against Celeana, I mean Celeana can set whole cities on fire and she has those sword fighing skills...
If Celean is up against Hermione, although Hermione might have superior magic skills, I think Celeana would win because she's more ruthless and she would throw everything in the fight and I think Hermione (unless it's Draco) would be a bit more hesitant and she absolutly won't win if the fight ends in a brawl...

message 65: by Lily (new)

Lily I haven't read a ton of these books, but it would be a pretty close call with Annabeth and Hermione since they are both really intelligent and both of them have good weapons.

Chantel Felicien Enrique wrote: "LISBETH SALANDER FTW"

message 67: by Rachael (new)

Rachael Am I the only one who thought it funny that every other heroine was stated with only themselves on the pole, but Bella needs an army in order to win?

message 68: by caitlynw (new)

caitlynw For me Celaena was the obvious choice. Shes an assassin who has been trained to kill people since she was little. And if you've read all the books out right now then you know she also has magic on her side.

message 69: by M.J. (last edited Jun 11, 2015 04:21AM) (new)

M.J. I think that Hermione has the most potential to win of the characters that I am familiar with, but of all the Characters, Tris was the one in my opinion who would fight to the end! Herrmione and Katnis both would think before making the decision to kill, they both faced conflict with morality issues of hurting even the enemy as there is a side to them that wanted the conflict to end peacefully. However, Tris entered into Dauntless accepting that she had to fight her way through, even if that meant laying down her own life. She had to kill for survival even if that meant taking the life of someone she loved. She survived and asked questions later! She stood up when no one else would, and not to add a spoiler for those who have not read the book, but what she did in the end showed that the cause she was fighting for was worth it to her, and she showed the ultimate bravery of a true heroine! I really don't think anyone with magical powers could stop Tris, because she's divergent, and the magic would probably not work on her, so they had better be ready to fight! Tris will always have my vote until I read some of the other books listed and find a more deserving heroine.

message 74: by Aihsley J (new)

Aihsley J I think Tris would win because she is immune to EVERYTHING so I think Tris has an advantage

message 75: by María (new)

María In fact, Katsa would be the one winning because her special gift is survival, so it's almost impossible to get her killed.

Misha María wrote: "In fact, Katsa would be the one winning because her special gift is survival, so it's almost impossible to get her killed."

I love how everyone seems to assume this is a fight to the death.

It just says fight, people!

message 77: by CJ (new)

CJ While I actually think Katsa would win (see all above comments re: her Gift), I had to vote for Keladry because she doesn't get enough love.

message 78: by Carla Harris (new)

Carla Harris Oh I so like your answer Zeth....
Am army of Bellas is funny though they could trip over one another...LOL...not that I didn't love the books

message 79: by Corey (new)

Corey Either Hermione or Katsa. Hermione has her magic, but I think in the end Katsa would win because of her Grace. Even if it weren't a fight to the death, her gift would make her win. If Katsa weren't in here, I would vote for Hermione for sure.

message 80: by Leanne (new)

Leanne Chu hermione! she's well-learned, has wits and is full of vigour.

message 81: by Varsha (new)

Varsha I couldn't choose between Celaena and Hermione. Because Hermione can just like take everyone out with her wand, but Celaena is an assassin. I think the battle between them would go in circles, until they like called a truce or something.

message 82: by Wolfkin (new)

Wolfkin Katniss is smart. Hermione is smarter

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

I was debating between Hermione and Katniss and leaning toward Katniss cuz she'd be so paranoid about the other person attacking that she'd most likely get the first hit. Hermione's prett nice so she may hesitate thereby allowing the hit. But then I saw an army of Bellas. On her own I'd debate over it. I mean, superhuman speed and strength? Hermione wouldn't have a chance to get a hit in. Perhaps no one would. I dunno. But an army?? The other don't stand a chance. I mean, that's a lot of vampires. This does not mean I prefer Bella. I totally prefer Katniss and Hermione and Tris.

message 84: by Andy (new)

Andy Hermione has that wand and she packs a mean punch, ask Draco.

Actually, she might be a contender all vamped up.

message 87: by Kate (new)

Kate Got to be Hermione. The other characters certainly have their skills and bravery, but Hermione is both brave, intelligent, and has a number of options to beat her opponents at her disposal, what with the use of her wand and the probably limitless spells!

Kaitlyn Sam wrote: "To me, the answer seems clear based on her gift: Katsa. She literally cannot lose. She may not be my favourite heroine listed, but she has by far the most useful powers in a fight. The others are c..."

I was very much tossing up between Katsa and Hermione but I think Hermione would win in a fight that wasn't to the death she only needs take her out of the action, therefore Katsa's ability shouldn't really kick in if there's no threat of death. Otherwise they are very equal in intelligence, will and strength.

Corey Kaitlyn wrote: "Sam wrote: "To me, the answer seems clear based on her gift: Katsa. She literally cannot lose. She may not be my favourite heroine listed, but she has by far the most useful powers in a fight. The ..."

But didn't Katsa's ability still kick in when she was fighting with Po? Katsa was never in any danger at all from Po but she was still able to beat him every time because of her ability.

Katsa isn't my favorite protagonist here either, but she is nearly invincible because of her Grace.

message 90: by Geneviève (new)

Geneviève hmm katniss and annabeth are huge determinators, hermione would probably come up with a clever trick to turn the odds in her favour (lol) but if it came down to hand to hand combat, rose, tris and celaena would be among the winners. and with the extensive training celaena endured, she'd probably best tris and rose (despite rose's dhampir agility and strength).

if it came down to any type of fighting, i'd say hermione because she'd use a spell to disable them all.

message 91: by Amelia (new)

Amelia Hermione would do well, probably make it to the top two, but ultimately, i think Katniss is ruthless enough to win. While her tendency to ally herself with one person, that person is both her strength and her weakness. If taken from her, she would kick everyone's ass.

Donna Zeth you are probably right, but the question was if they fought each other who would win? But I agree, they probably wouldn't fight each other.

message 95: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale If "None of the above" had been available, I would have voted that way.

message 96: by Bekah (new)

Bekah Martin I was going to go with Hermione, because of her scary brilliance, but then I saw that Alanna the Lioness was an option. Alanna has both magic AND warrior training, so she would be able to counter everyone else the best. I mean, come on, she's killed a guy twice! ;-)

message 97: by Erma (new)

Erma Talamante I am totally in the minority here: Alanna. She already went head-to-head against magic, without magic, and against undead. She's my fave, and the first of the above books I read.

Alanna FTW!!

Alice (Booksandfreshlybrewedtea) Celaena Sardothien Deffo! shes not best assassin for no reason. Also she's fae so she could basically kick anyone's ass

message 99: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Schlenker Tris would otally win, she wants to help so much that I'm sure if it was something she really cared about she would sacrifice her life.

message 100: by K.S. (new)

K.S. Magic makes Hermione formidable, but Katsa's grace (special power) is to survive. Meaning whatever an enemy throws at her she will be able to handle. This ability may even cancel out spells done against her.
