Kindle Notes & Highlights
Not only is Aiden so caught up in Elsa that he’s physically unable to see anyone but her, but there’s also no way I’d marry him.
“Why did you have to repeat my mistakes?”
Me What are you doing in my room? What I do every night, Butterfly. Getting my dose of you.
Come back early tomorrow. I miss you, Butterfly.
Nausea. It’s the second day I wake up feeling it in the span of a week.
I’m not stupid. I know that I can’t pretend to be asleep every night. Not only will Cole see straight through me, but he’ll also confront me. He’ll pick up on my mood changes.
“I think I’m pregnant.”
He pauses his dismissal game and narrows his eyes on me before he returns back to his poker face.
“Congratulations. I’ll send gifts. I won’t offer babysitting...

“Make a sound when you approach, damn it.” I glare at him.
Aiden grabs me by the shoulders and pushes me into Cole’s embrace. “Here, your mess. You’re welcome.”
“Not until you tell me what the fuck is going on with you? First, you pretend you’re asleep. Then, you don’t have breakfast with us. And now, you’re running after Aiden?” He picked up on all of that.
“You’re so cute to think you can get rid of me.”
“You should know already that the harder you push, the meaner I turn. The louder you say you hate me, the more ruthless I become about owning that hate. It doesn’t matter which game you play. You can even invent a new game, but I’ll learn it and still bring you to your knees in front of me. So tell me, Silver, do you honestly think you can ever win against me?”
“If you follow Aiden and play this game, you won’t like how I’ll react.”
“In case you didn’t realise, this is called stalking.”
“As if you’d know anything about stalking.” “What is that supposed to mean?”
“That would be a no. I’m not taking responsibility for Nash’s bastard.”
“Hey! Say that again and I’ll kill you.”
“Sorry, Mama Bear,” he mocks. “But that negates the whole point of this...

“I can search for underground clinics and poof. Gone. No one will know the future prime minister’s daughter aborted.”
“If you speak to Elsa, I’ll speak to Nash. Believe me, you can’t win against me on this. Ruin me and I’ll ruin you back.”
“Exactly. Smarten up, Queens. All of what you’re doing is a temporary solution.”
“Then fucking disappear, Queens. This is your final warning. If you threaten what’s mine, I’ll destroy you until there’s nothing left for Nash to pick up.”
I’ve never felt more alone in my entire life than I do right now.
Right when I’m about to hit her back, she punches me in the abdomen.
Aiden squeezes Elsa’s neck and she finally stops trying to reach out for me. She blinks a few times and looks at Aiden who whispers,
“Don’t go there again.”
You made me obsessed with you to the point I can’t fucking breathe until I see you.”
“Why did it have to be you?”
“Stop answering my questions with questions, wanker.”
After we slide inside, he brings out a towel from a grocery bag. “Did you make a stop to get this?” It looks new.
“Damn. You’re really not you when you’re hungry.”
“Read to me.” “Read to you?” “You’ve always read quietly, even when you were a child. I’ve wondered how it would be like if you read aloud.”
“I don’t read from e-books.” He stares at my phone with distaste as if he wouldn’t touch it with a long stick.
“Stop being a paperback snob. Besides, the Kindle app has all your books in one place. You don’t have to carry a few tons with you whenever you want to go somewhere.”
“You want me to read sex to you?”
The way his face turns serene whenever he reads has always been one of my favourite sceneries. I thought it’d appear somewhat disturbed when he reads a sex scene, but it remains the same.
as he hit her womb.” He pauses. “Can he do that? Hit her womb, I mean.”
“Do all women think too much about things during sex?”
“Which part of no commentating do you not understand?”
“Now what?” He raises a brow. “You want to start a polyamorous fling? I don’t think Queens could take it, though.”
“You’re my brother-in-law. Isn’t that full of unicorns, or what?”
could be a coincidence, but here’s the thing, I don’t believe in coincidences.
Everything happens for a reason.
Coincidence is merely a term to interpret things that seem to not...

Aiden’s ice exists because of the kidnapping. Silver’s ice exists because of her parents’ divorce that she still hasn’t gotten over, no matter how much she loves Mum.
Mine is because of that blood pool and the need for chaos.
I don’t tell her about meeting chaos or that I didn’t want to be found. That would make me seem like a psycho and I don’t need that baggage thrown onto Elsa.
