“You came on your own. You can leave at any time.”
“I don’t come here to have sex. I come here to watch it.”
“You’re my first.” “And last,” I speak before I even realise it.
“Last?” “I’ll stay if you promise I’m the only one you’ll bring here.” “Deal, but you have to come with me all the time.”
“Fine, but there’ll be no sex while you’re dressing me.” I stop, then quickly blurt, “Oral included.” He smirks as he removes my jacket. “You’re learning.” Not that I have a choice. I need to keep up with his devious mind. Cole is like the tiny clauses you don’t see in a contract. It’s as if he searches for opportunities
“No one will know who we are. This is a private room only I use. Besides, the masks.”
“You know, it’s not obligatory to remove your underwear around here,” he muses. “Then why did you?” I’m so turned on, my voice turns breathy. “Because it gives me straight access to this.”
I see it then. The gleam in his eyes whenever he reads said books. Cole likes the challenge and being immersed in something so deep, he forgets his surroundings. It’s his own form of chaos.
“Silver and Cole sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” Ronan appears in front of us with a huge grin, grabbing Xan by the shoulder.
“By all means.” Xander motions between us. “Continue. We don’t even need popcorn.”
“Merde!” Ronan’s face falls. “Does this mean we can’t see your tits anymore?”
“Don’t mention them again or life as you know it will be over, Astor.” Cole’s face and voice remain calm, but the menace is clear in his eyes. “You too, Knight.”
“I suspected they were making babies at your house the other night.”
“Under my damn roof and yet I’m the last to know? Again
“I feel left out again. Now I have to see my therapist. Are you going to pay for his bill or take responsibility for the emotional damage? Are you? That’s what I thought. Why am I always left out of the cool stuff, merde
“I knew it.” Xan extends his hand to Ronan. “Hand me my hundred.”
“Wait.” Ronan stares between us. “Are you fucking? Because that’s the only thing I bet on.”
“Yes. Every night,” Cole says in ...

“I miss you. I miss home. I even miss Sebastian. What is wrong with me?”
What’s the point if I can’t have the only one for me?
“The locked door can’t keep me away. Besides, why do you think I chose the room next to yours? I always come through the balcony. I have to keep my door locked, too, in case Mum comes to check on me.”
I’ve told her a thousand times over that the more she acts like a bitch towards me or anyone else — the more she fakes her life — the harder I’ll fuck her that night.
I used to like knowing that she’s a bitch on the outside but turns into a willing submissive whenever I touch her. That I’m the only one who sees that side of her.
“What?” Xander runs towards us, panting. “Who? Drama?”
She’s not. She does care. Silver calls her mum five times a day and makes sure her dad stays hydrated and Mum stays focused whenever she has a deadline.
The reason Silver seems like an uncaring, self-centred bitch is because she doesn’t show her concern. She considers it a weakness and does everything to smother it.
“Fuck you both, connards. I’m really filing a report for neglect.” Ronan switches to a dramatic tone. “My abandonment issues are coming back to me. I need therapy.”
I do remember the first part, though. I’ll never forget it. Maybe that’s why I can’t recall the rest. You’re a monster.
My monster of a father called me a monster. How ironic is that?
Today is the anniversary of William Nash’s death. Ten years later, I’m still standing at the edge of the pool as if I’m that small kid.
I still wonder why I extended a hand to get him out.
Slender arms wrap around my waist from behind. Her flowery perfume envelops me as her pale, manicured hands grab each other at my stomach.
For a second, I close my eyes and cut my connection with the bloody water.
Silver is my chaos. She’s the first person I saw after all that blood, and for that reason alon...

She’s not supposed to be my calm. And yet, when her head falls on my back and her warmth mingles with mine, I realise she’s the only calm I’ve ever had in my life. Even ...

“I wanted to tell you this at the funeral, but you were being mean, so I didn’t.”
“My father was abusive. He hit me and Mum, especially Mum, whenever he was drunk.”
“You’ve been watching me?” She’s staring at the ground, kicking imaginary pebbles. “Maybe.”
“It doesn’t look like guilt.” Her voice is gentle, emotional. “It looks like you want to grieve but can’t. It was the same at the funeral, right?”
“Jump with you where?” “In the pool.”
Two hands touch my cheeks — soft, tender hands — and guide me to the surface. Silver.
“What is wrong with you? You scared the shit out of me, Cole.” She pants. “Are you okay?”
Silver wrenched me from the water, not only now, but also ten years ago. My chaos. My damnation.
“Darling,” Helen calls after me, carrying my thermos. “You forgot the tea you made.” “Oh, right. Thanks, Helen. You’re the best.” I hug her and slap a loud kiss on her cheek.
This won’t only ruin our future, but also our parents,’ and for that reason alone, I know whatever Cole and I have will never last.
It’s a fling. An adventure. And like any adventure, there will come a day when it’ll eventually end.
“Yeah, right. You’re as hopeless as me when it comes to cooking.”
