Complexity: A Guided Tour
by
"This book describes the new paradigm in science, one in which the analytical approach of breaking everything down into component parts and studying those is replaced by a synthetic approach, studying a complex system as a whole unity. This approach has brought numerous useful findings to the scientific community in fields as diverse as physics, sociology, archaeology, computer science, and epidemiology. Reading this book, which is written in a very friendly and approachable style, should really interest the reader and lead to more questions to ask, as well as providing some understanding of what the science of Complex Systems is really about."

Prometheus Rising
by
"This book uses Dr. Timothy Leary's 8-circuit model of the mind and expands upon it, in a very friendly and humorous style. Best of all, this book has exercises, meant to help the reader understand the functions and properties of each circuit directly and deeply. Highly recommended."

A Cooperative Species: Human Reciprocity and Its Evolution
by
"This book describes the origins of altruism and reciprocity in human beings, as they evolved and grew from apes. It is very interesting, and useful as a counterpoint to books like "The Selfish Gene", which tend to portray human behavior in a very negative, dog-eats-dog light. If you're interested in the history of tribal, and, later, societal cooperation, these two famous researchers' work should be a breath of fresh air."
