Thanks, Nancy. I feel guilty though. I did not have anything from my own country. Had the list been Top 20 there are 2 or 3.

11. One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
12. Noli Me Tangere - Jose Rizal (Philippines)
13. Kafka on the Shore - Haruki Murakami
14. Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
15. David Copperfield - Charles Dickens
16. The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien
17. Siddharta - Hermann Hesse
18. Midnight's Children - Salman Rushdie
19. Mga Agos sa Disyerto - Abueg, Ordonez, Sicat (Philippines)
20. Hamlet - William Shakespeare

K.D. Absolutely I recommend Rushdie. If I will die next week and I can read only one of them, I will first read Rushdie then Hesse then Murakami.

You're welcome, Nancy. Hope you'll like it too!

Ramesh Great List - it would be interesting to see how that list would evolve during the stages of our livess. I've read 8/10 of yours but really didn't get Faulker at all only got through Joyce with help.

Yes, I had an annotated copy of The Sound and the Fury so it helped me too.
