The Catcher in the Rye
by
"When someone asks me why I love this book so much, I honestly cannot provide a specific reason. I remember the first time I read this in 9th grade English class, dissecting it, as we did with all the other books. For some reason, I did not find the dissection process to be tedious with this novel, but rather intriguing. I think I am most fond of the concept of innocence, the book's motif. When I read this book, I kept thinking about my favorite poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost. I adore Holden, I feel like the two of us would get along so well. This book just has a special place in my heart. No matter how many amazing books I read, I find it impossible to knock this novel out of the number one spot on my list."

The Land of Mango Sunsets
by
"Frank drew me in with her simplistic and poetic language. I related well with the characters and could visualize everything that happened, as if I were watching a film, or was a passerby watching them live their lives. I felt as though I were traveling each time I read it. The Land of Mango Sunsets was a vacation for the soul. The ending left me a little disheartened, but did not diminish my love for the novel itself."

The Stranger
by
"Monsieur Mersault's existential nature was fascinating. I loved the simple and blunt language Camus used to illustrate what many people know as apathy. This novel speaks to me, because I first read it, when I was struggling with the identification of my own emotions. Therefore, listening to the accounts of Mersault was refreshing."

Ask the Dust (The Saga of Arturo Bandini, #3)
by
"I found myself highlighting so many paragraphs in this book, because of the magnificent language Fante uses. The love between Arthur and Camilla was strange, electrifying, and captivating. Arthur was a wonderful character; someone I could relate to and I'd love to interview him in a fictional universe."

Cocktails for Three
by
"Although it started off a bit dry and slow, I absolutely loved the character development. I was fond of the fact that it involved London as a setting and the ladies worked for a fashion magazine. Without giving too much away, the case that arises amongst the hardworking women at The Londoner really caught me off guard and I found myself disliking the character I originally liked the most. Very quick and interesting read. Highly recommended. "

Mr. Monster (John Cleaver #2)
by
"I am a huge fan of Wells. I think he writes in a way that you can hear his voice telling you the stories upon the pages. His characters are beautifully flawed. He discusses murder and the dark matter of death in a way that is both poignantly disturbing and beautiful."

Brave New World
by
"The dystopian nature of this novel lured me in completely. The essay-like writing Huxley utilized, kept it interesting and made me feel as if he were my professor. Extremely fascinating concept and well-written."

Water for Elephants
by
"I adore the storyline the most. The characters are awe-inspiring. I am actually working on a novella based off this book, but from a young woman's perspective, who wants to work with the lions in the circus, rather than elephants. I just enjoyed the simplicity and the ease of reading this book."

"I loved the way Donoghue told the story through a child's voice. Jack, was a heroic young boy, and his journey brought me to tears. I related to him very well and saw a lot of my early childhood while reading about his."
