I am slowly making my way through this reading list. There are 4 other books mentioned during Mr. Remmy's class in episode 2: David Copperfield, Great Expectations, Tale of Two Cities, and Little Dorrit.

This is wonderful! I've just started watching Gilmore Girls (how did I ever miss this show?) and this list is perfect, I love the context for each book. You are seriously amazing!

I just started watching Gilmore after many years of dodging it. It's perfect timing too because I'm older and I can really appreciate it. This list is perfect! I want to read all of these books.
I'm pretty sure Dean was reading Pride and Prejudice in season 1, not Northanger Abbey. Awesome list by the way. :)

Alas, you are right. The same cover image painting is on a few Penguin editions of Northanger Abbey, hence the confusion. But now I see it's a Signet Classic, and a search for "Pride and Prejudice", "signet classic" comes up with that exact edition. Thanks for the correction!
Oh goodness, I've been looking for a list like this. All the others are a jumble of movies and jokes with no care to what character it related to. I am impressed by this Paris-like attention to detail! Also, Giu is right about the missing book in 1.20, but its actually not 'Ulysses' by James Joyce. Rory's reading "James Joyce's Ulysses" by Stuart Gilbert. You can see his name at the bottom of the cover.
Mary wrote: "Oh goodness, I've been looking for a list like this. All the others are a jumble of movies and jokes with no care to what character it related to. I am impressed by this Paris-like attention to det..."Ack! You are totally right. The same one Jess is reading in a later season. :)
Amanda wrote: "Mary wrote: "Oh goodness, I've been looking for a list like this. All the others are a jumble of movies and jokes with no care to what character it related to. I'm sure the two of them have had some great conversations about love and faithfulness after both reading it.
Mary wrote: "Amanda wrote: "Mary wrote: "Oh goodness, I've been looking for a list like this. All the others are a jumble of movies and jokes with no care to what character it related to. I am impressed by this..."I caught the one with Jess since in his scene, the book was more difficult to figure out - smaller, blurrier, etc. But in Rory's scene the title is so easy to read I didn't actually research the cover and just assumed it was Ulysses. It's now official head canon that it was Rory's copy he was borrowing. Or maybe "borrowing". :)
I don't know how you managed to find out wich are the books she pulls out of her locker, I can't see them when I watch the first episode.
Paula wrote: "I don't know how you managed to find out wich are the books she pulls out of her locker, I can't see them when I watch the first episode."A lot of looking frame by frame and trying to make out blurry lettering! One book I wasn't sure of till I recognized it in a thrift store.
Geórgea wrote: "How about Oliver Twist?"Hi! Do you know a specific episode you saw it in or it was mentioned in? Thanks!
Hi, Amanda! Rory calls Jess "Dodger", a caracter in the book, and he replies "Oliver Twist", showing her that he knows what she's talking about. I do not remember the specific episode or season, but I intend to watch the series again very soon and I'll come back here to tell you! :)

Hi Amanda! You said there is a list per season. Can you please send me a link with the list that has your comments on it? They are great!
I found a list that just has the books :(
Thanks a lot!

Try this - https://www.goodreads.com/list/create...
And then on each list, click my name at the bottom under "people who have voted", and it should show my comments.
I saw this list just now and can I just say you’re literally a life saver?! The thing about most of the Rory Gilmore reading lists available on the internet is they’re all a compilation of the 339 books referenced in the show, but I only want to read those that Rory actually read. This list makes it easier for me to know which ones are Rory’s!! Thank you so much for making this (and all your other lists for the other seasons)! 💛
Chia wrote: "I saw this list just now and can I just say you’re literally a life saver?! It was that same frustration that led me to start the lists. The ones I found were all alphabetical and started from a list posted of Rory Gilmore “books” that included ones she might read, not just what’s seen or mentioned on the show.
