Does anyone know by chance the name of a book that starts off with the The Legend of the Trumpeter of Krakow before telling a story where a boy loses his father to the Nazis but not before he is sent outside the city to the woods to learn to survive until the war is over. Thanks!

Julia, that doesn't sound familiar to me. I'd suggest trying this Goodreads group: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
There are a number of non-fiction books on this list (e.g. Anne Frank, The Hiding Place). Should they be deleted?

Correct me f I'm wrong, but isn't Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys not a Holocaust novel? It is about the Soviets transporting people into the Work Camps in Russia under Stalin's Rule, right? So, wouldn't that make it about Soviet Russia, and not Nazi Germany? Also, that book is on here twice. Just sayn'.
