During Dr. King Jr's week of Service and Engagement, the Lindy Center will collaborate with internal and external partners on and off campus, and support and uplift the Black communities of Philadelphia, with a focus on our neighbors in Powelton Village and Mantua, and within Drexel University. Every resource or program offered will be grounded in the concepts of racial justice, racial equity, and restorative justice as aligned with Dr. King’s message of and vision for a new society and his leadership of a movement to achieve that vision. As Dr. King stressed the importance of voting rights and following the lead of community-based and community-lead initiatives, the Lindy Center will also be working with student organizations across campus to advance voter access for students, highlight campus civic engagement opportunities and connect students with community leaders and organizations to promote the connection of Drexel University to its neighbors.
