Jill Shalvis is a NYT, USA Today, and Amazon Top 100 bestselling author of small-town romance and romcoms, known for big feels, found family, and plenty of shenanigans.

If you love small-town chaos, meddling friends and neighbors, sizzling chemistry, and heroes who fall hard for the one woman they absolutely did not plan on, you’re in the right place. Jill’s books blend laugh-out-loud moments with emotional gut punches, slow-burn tension, and deeply earned happily ever afters.

She writes the stories she loves to read: small-town romance and romantic comedies packed with heart, heat, second chances, grumpy/sunshine sparks, and the kind of found-family vibes that make you want to move right into the pages. Many of her series are perfect for bin

Current highlights from my glamorous author life include:

aggressively ignoring laundry

reheating the same cup of tea three times

arguing with fictional people who refuse to behave

and spending an unreasonable amount of time researching something for a book that has now absolutely put

“Who did this?” he asked, gently, so gently, gliding the pad of his thumb over the scar on my jaw.

"Someone from my past."

“She realized the murderous urges suggested that she, in fact, did not have this, but hey, no one was perfect.”
Jill Shalvis, The Backup Plan

“He had no idea what it was about her that got beneath his guard, and he couldn’t quite say he liked it, but somehow he liked her, which couldn’t be good for either of them.”
Jill Shalvis, The Backup Plan

“She wanted him. She wanted him bad, too. But he seemed more like one of those kind of ideas that sounded really good in the moment, but had the potential to turn out spectacularly bad. Like when she opened a family size bag of chips and then ate the whole thing.”
Jill Shalvis, The Backup Plan

“And damn, she was in over her head, because if he had a hold of her heart — which was likely, the sneaky bastard — she wasn’t entirely convinced he’d be careful with it.”

“And if I were to return the favor?” his asked, voice low and husky.
Her eyes locked on his mouth. “It would probably be the polite thing to do.”

Mel Thanks for the friendship, Jill! I love your writing style...your books and your blog. I believe we could be sisters separated at birth. Each time I read your "I Love Lucy Moments," I swear you could be writing about me. I always find myself in some silly pickle...locking myself out of the house without my keys, misplacing my cell phone to discover my husband had put it back in it's appropriate pocket in my purse, losing my glasses to feel them sitting on top of my head. Thank you for providing me with the courage to laugh at myself. Mel :)
