Hannah Kaye is a professional daydreamer, homeschool mama, drama teacher, and lover of stories in all forms. She is the author of The Sadie and Clyde Adventures, a series of humorous and heartfelt Westerns for middle grade readers, and is also a contributing author in the faith-filled fantasy series A Classic Retold.

Her stories are largely inspired by her sisters, her Christian faith, and her passion for weaving Truth into fiction. When not spinning tales, Hannah enjoys being outside, especially near water, where she’s dabbled in kayaking, sailing, and SCUBA diving.

She lives in northeast Oklahoma with her nerdy husband, two young hobbits, a long-legged dog, and several aquariums of tropical fish. She can often be found lurking near a coffe

(For example, house rules at my house count flying hawks as long as they can be identified and backed up by biological features, visible to both players.)

However, it is to the benefit of the verifying player NOT to validate flying hawks, as they are easier to spot, harder to prove, and, once verified, give points to the spotting player. Of course, if the verifying player happens to be a rabbit, it's likely the "don't-get-eaten" instinct will kick in more often than not, causing the player to verify hawks no matter their position or activity. This can give the spotting player an arguably unfair advantage.

All that being said, the version of Hawkspot played in 1889 was really more of a primitive proto-hawkspot. For an official stance, I'd have to recommend you consult the 2020 rule book.(less)

The main characters, setting, and basic plot points of "Goldwater Ridge" were borrowed almost entirely from one of those games. The book is peppered throughout with inside jokes, references, and funny little quips that hearken back to that goofy little game we played when we were little. "Goldwater Ridge" is essentially a love letter to my sisters, who were and still are my biggest sources of inspiration, and to our childhood, which I wouldn't trade for all the gold in the West.(less)

A Series Launches – Celebrating BREAK THE BEAST and A Classic Retold

It’s finally here… A Classic Retold officially launches TODAY! Book one of our 9-week rapid release is now available from all book retailers. So in honor of both the series launch and the book release of one of the best books I’ve read in 2023, I’ve put together a special interview with none other than the amazing Allison Tebo, author of Break the Beast and the mastermind behind A Classic Retold.

So you know that general suspicion about spiritual manipulation and gaslighting we’ve all had for the last 10 years? Yeah, Megan’s gonna call it all out, and she brought the receipts.

I definitely can see why this book got her SUPER cancelled though.

Just a very light, Christian-flavored motherhood book. It’s not particularly deep or groundbreaking, but parts of it were relatable and it was a good palate cleanser when I needed a break from the denser book I’m working my way through.
