Great continuation of the series. Only a single flawed moment... where the action was cheesy, but it was less than a sentence. The character wasn't all that important anyway.
I loved the increase in tempo, despite the fact that we are (and remain) blind to Paul's prescience, it's intriguing to go along, and hear him suffer through the choice between two evils. The Dune follow-ups are good books in their own right, but they pale in comparison with the original. A lot of the same themes are explored and it is in these sequels where we see most clearly the downfall of the hero/messiah myth. The usual religious and political commentary is all there. The sense of wonder and awe that the first book had just isn't there though, at least not for me.
