What Members Thought
I resisted this book for a long time, for three very good reasons: 1) it’s literary fiction; 2) it won the Man Booker Prize, and I’m historically 50/50 on liking Man Booker nominee and winning books; and 3) everyone talked about how amazing it was, and that kind of lavish praise makes me wary.

Good read!
I actually listened to this on book on tape during a road trip with Andre last year (or was it two years ago?!) it was fun to listen to especially since the guy had an Indian accent. ANYWAY, its an interesting predicament...being caught on a lifeboat with a tiger, how could you not want to know how that ended up happening, right?! But the last few chapters kind of lost me. If it meant what I thought it meant...well, then it was a stupid ending in my opinion.
Probably would have rated a Five....... But the beginning was difficult for me to get into. Other than that, fantastical yet moving- you get the drift. Oh, and not so sure about the ending either- but you'll have to read it to find out why!

Exactly like the movie except for the very end. The "other story" that Pi tells in the book is much more graphic and violent than the one told in the movie.
