Initially I thought this was going to turn out to be some corny romance story and was very surprised, since the friend who recommended it, doesn't as far as I'm aware, read romance stories. I came here to goodreads and read a couple of reviews, enough to find out what I needed to know to continue. The writer conveys her thoughts, feelings and rumminations with such ease. I saw the movie trailer and decided to pick it up. Good storyline, a genuine tear jerker. Couldn't see myself rooting for stripey socks, but I did. Moral of the story, be yourself, keep pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone. ...more

Amazing book. Very well-written with a full cast of complicated characters. It also humanizes the issues around the right-to-die discussions. Beautifully done, well worth reading.
