What Members Thought
The story told in letters is particularly interesting in setting the tone of post WWII and the impact on a wonderful cross section of lives. The full cast audio narration is top rate and a most effective and poignant experience.
I didn't know what this about when I started reading it, and when I saw it was written in letters I was a little put off --- well, I loved it, and wished it were nonfiction so I would have the opportunity to meet the characters!

This book was a lot of fun to read and I learned stuff about WW II that I didn't know before. I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the second half of the book. The first half was sparkling and delightful. It created a character in Juliet that I loved getting to know. The second half of the book changed style and that author seemed to be more concerned with moving the plot along and sacrificed the characters to do it. Still, worth reading.

Fabulous book about a part of WWII that I had not heard of... The German occupation of the Channel Islands for five years. An eclectic group of Guernsey Islanders gather together and form a literary society and manage to help each other survive the occupation. Wonderful book. It's been sitting in my Kindle app for a year.. Glad I finally read it.

So fantastic!! I wish so badly that I could be apart of this society and befriend these people! I know, they are fiction, but a girl can dream. This book really was so lovely!
