“Tell me what you listen to, and I'll tell you who you are.”

I am verklempt! This book made me happy, then sad, then angry, once again happy, then annoyed and finally a sobbing mess. So many emotions... so many beautiful quotes... so many twists and turns I never saw coming. I thought God-Shaped Hole was phenomenal, but HtKaRS was mind-blowingly awesome! Tiffanie DeBartolo I bow at your throne of literary genius. Its a tragedy that this author hasn't released more books. This is a story about lov ...more

I really loved this book, though sometimes I really wanted to slap Eliza upside the head - what was she thinking???
This book was an emotional rollercoaster that's for sure which pulled at the heart strings and had me in tears in parts.
Being a love of Indie music I just loved Paul and his staunch values and what music meant to him - to him it was all about the music and his love for Eliza - it really was beautiful.
The music references took me back - made me want to go and check out some Pink Floy ...more

I had very mixed feelings on How to Kill a Rock Star. There were parts I absolutely loved and parts that I almost couldn't continue because I hated the direction it was going so much.
Eliza is a music journalist. When she lands a great job at a music magazine she jumps at the opportunity to move to New York and be in the same city as her brother. Because Michael (Eliza's brother) and his wife's apartment is so small, Eliza moves in with Michael's best friend Paul, the talented singer in her brot ...more

"For what its worth, I think happiness is a fleeting condition, not a permanent goddamn state of mind. I've learned that if you chase after moments of bliss here and there, sometimes those moments will sustain you through the shit. He paused to pick a piece of tobacco off his tongue. Personally, I don't like inherently happy people. I don't trust them. I think there is something seriously wrong with anyone who isn't at least a little let down by the world."

Unbelievably good!
How to Kill a Rock Star

Paul and Eliza are a pretty damaged pair. Somehow, they work and they only work together.
Paul Hudson, an amazing musician, was pushed into the popularity contest of corporate music labels.

This book had my emotions going all over the place. I was everywhere from laughing to sobbing.

I adored Tiffanie DeBartolo's writing style, ability to play with emotions and insight into the music world.
