Battle Angel Alita meets the Brothers' Grimm. The structure and settings are very well done. Though it doesn't keep my attention very well. Such a pity.

Okay wow doesn't seem to cover this story. It does have elements of Cinderella in it and there is moments when its something completely different.

Listened for fun through audibles.
First Thoughts: It was better than I thought it was going to be, I am not real big on getting books that have a lot of hype. Normally if they are hyped up I don't like them, so this one was a surprise.
When it comes to fairy tale retellings I am sort of iffy. Some times I like them and some times I don't, so I really wasn't sure if I would want to try this because of all the hype. This one is about Cinderella but at the same time it isn't like any type of Cindere ...more

OH my heck! This book is brilliant! I literally couldn't put it down. It is a great work on Sci-fiction and fairy tale. It takes place in futuristic Beijing, and Cinder is part cyborg. I was amazed with her storyline and with her writing. It was a great read. (2012)
I just finished re-reading this book, and I loved it the second time. What made it so good is the PURE GENIUS OF MARISSIA MEYER! When I first read the book, we didn't know who was Cress was or some of the other characters. I totally d ...more

literally could not put it down!! great characters. i loved iko. it was a perfect mix of futuristic fantasy, tech, good verses evil with a dash of plague. it's such a unique twist of the traditional telling of cinderella. it'll leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
