Enjoyed a lot .. didn’t know anything about story prior to read. Great ending. Glad to have this big friend for 2 weeks summer hols - think I d like to have met Shadow & a few of the other characters as we travelled along on our journey.

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading it, but it sucked me into it's world inhabited by gods both good and bad, until I was anxiously waiting to see how it would all play out.

The main character begins the book having just been released from prison, on his way home to meet the wife he hasn't seen for the last three years. While in transit he encounters a strange older man who offers him a job as his bodyguard/assistant. At first he refuses, but when ...more
