A little slow by our standards, but exciting nonetheless. We have to remember that the world was a bigger place & that travel and communication took a lot longer.
I especially liked the way Stoker wrote this, using the journals and letters of the characters to tell the story from various perspectives. I'll bet this creeped the shit out of readers in 1897.
