What Members Thought
I started this book because a facebook group that I belong to wanted to do it as a Buddy Read. I kept seeing people purchasing the book, so I thought it might be a fun and different read. It is definitely different. This novel is a weird mixture of witchcraft, a made-up Kingdom that seems like it is in France, medieval-ish times with some modern mixed in, and a scewed look at gender roles.

This book was alright, but didn't quite grab me as other fantasies have. I enjoyed that it was set in a French alternative world and that the witches were steeped in authentic witch lore. However, I couldn't quite feel sympathetic with the main character and the others. I do believe that other readers who love occult fantasies with some romance and rebellious characters would like this book, and it will be followed as part of a series.
