Shelves: fantasy, ya

A solid conclusion to this series. I was glad for the way Maas tied up all the loose ends, giving an explanation for almost all the mysteries in the series. I was a bit put off by the finale, in how perfectly well everything turned out. It felt like the ending of a fairy tale, rather than the same book series, especially as every other ending in the series have been dramatic cliffhangers. This ending felt off.

I love the characters in this series, and the writing is compelling, but...it's 700 pages of high drama. If you are looking for a fantasy/romance soap opera to sink your teeth into for a little bit, this is it. ...more
