On reread: apparently I never reviewed this when I first read it, so a bit of my thoughts now: first of all, still excellent. the characters, the fast paced plot, the twists and turns. I really like that this story is a little more contained- almost the entire thing happens in the same city- it feels more claustrophobic and scary, which I liked. I loved getting to know the characters even more, especially Jesper and Wylan. My only issue is with how neatly some of the things wrapped up in the end

There was a lot of character development considering with was the second book. The development was interesting but definitely slowed the pacing a bit and made it much longer. There was again a lot of action at very high stakes which over such a long book started to be emotionally exhausting. I enjoyed how the heist part played out. The author did a very good bait and switch (both with the mark and the reader). The denouement was less satisfying. I don't want to spoil it but it seemed unnecessary

I am completely and fully in love with the Grisha universe. To me it is unique and refreshing and I savored every page of CK. Six of Crows was a 5 star read for me, and CK was even better, it deserves all the stars! - I enjoyed the plot of CK more than SOC and of course there is more of Jesper - another heartthrob, but alas, he doesn’t play for my team. His eventual ship is heartwarming and I need more Jesper in ...more
