Purely and utterly MAGICAL.

I can't wait for the next illustrated editions of the following books (specially The Prisoner of Azkaban, my fav ♡).

This is my first time reading Harry Potter. I don't know why I left it so long, but now am buddy reading the series with my 30 yr old daughter who read them as they came out!

I have only seen snippets of the movies too, so am glad to say I haven't been spoiled for the series.

Absent all the hype and the media saturation of the series, I found that this was just a perfectly fine middle grade novel. I enjoyed this book, but I wasn't in love with it and I don't think it's worth all the hype. I ultimately found this to be too linear and simplistic for me to really love. I liked the characters and I did find this to be an entertaining book. I will read the rest of the series as I suspect it gets better as it goes on. ...more

It only took forever for me to finally read this and I am thoroughly impressed. The creativity, the characters, and the imagery was off the charts. Wish this was around when I was a young reader.
