Shelves: fun-reads
I was surprised by how this ended. I was expecting a different resolution. I was impressed, however with the writing and how the author decided to end the book. I admit I cried and claimed injustice. I would recommend this to someone who needs a good cry and quick read.

Wonderfully bittersweet. I was touched at the clarity with which Winnie narrated. She may have been a bit older than 10 in her style, and ultimately the author's style, but there are those precocious children.

I found myself wondering where in the world this wood was, and settled for America or England. Pretty good for a stab in the dark. This is a tinge serious for a children's book, but I think it's purity rings true. Much more novel-like would have been if Winnie were older...

I really liked this story. It was very unique and had a good plotline. The subject is very interesting. The analogies and lessons where great. It was a quick read for me but a very enjoyable one. I loved the writing style and how it was completly clean. A read the can be enjoyed by all ages.
