I changed my mind after rereading To Kill a Mockingbird just this weekend. This book deserves a 5 star rating. I originally rated this 4 stars because in my memory, when I read it in high school, the book was kinda slow and only picked up in the last few chapters. But now, I don't think that at all. The pace was good all throughout the book. It's just that the last few chapters have all the feels pouring out so I guess people think the best parts are only in the latter chapters. But, no. Overall

I chose "To Kill A Mockingbird" to re-read as part of reading challenge (A banned book). Yes, there is racism, sexism, and exclusion. At times, I was appalled at what I was reading. However, the setting was in the 1930s in a small southern town in Alabama. I think that is just the way it was then. I chose to believe Harper Lee wrote the book to identify these discriminations and use "To Kill a Mockin ...more
