A freaky futuristic novel about government taking full control of a society where men rule the world. Handmaids have a specific role and that it to breed. It’s well crafted and uniquely written...4 stars!

I devoured the first half of this book and then felt it lost a little steam but I still peered through to the end. I loved the social commentary. The thing that is so amazing to me is that this book was written almost 20 years ago yet her commentary fits right into today's world as well. The only reason I took off a star is because I thought the ending was pretty unsatisfying. ...more
