What Members Thought
Honestly, so much easier to get through when read in tandem with an audiobook. I listened to the one narrated by Andy Serkis and he does a great job. Really felt like he was channeling Sean Bean strongly at points. But the boring parts felt easier to get through when I listened and the parts I like more personally I could read through. It can really be a thick slog, and this is probably the least engaging for me of the series, but still such a good nostalgia kick.
audiobook version of The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien
I was repeatedly bullied by a well-meaning relative into attempting to read The Hobbit as a child, and I never made it past the first couple of chapters. I was forced to read this all the way through in high school. I do not remember it remotely well enough to review, but I did know that at the time, it was still not for me. Maybe I should give one of these books another try someday. Not today.
