Nanosynergy
Usually see the reprise of the protagonist-fixated serial killer much later in a mystery series - not in Book #1 and in Book #2. And the romance heats up (no surprise). Maura Isles shows up (absent in Book #1).

I found the plot and plotting predictable. The ending sequence (don't want to spoil with more info) echos a bit something used in Jeffrey Deaver's 1999 "Bone Collector." Perhaps I've just read way too many mysteries.

I should've done many things today - laundry, wrap gifts, make cookies, clean..... but, instead I just read straight through this book! Very creepy and oh so fascinating! I at least made it to the grocery store. :) ...more
