What Members Thought

I really enjoyed this book even more than I thought I would. I have always loved Gatsby, when I first read it in high school and again as an adult but This Side of Paradise, Fitzgerald's other "masterpiece" didn't captivate me as much as this did. First of all it's somewhat autobiographical which holds a special interest and secondly it's somewhat heartbreaking. If you like Fitzgerald, pick this one up. It's also an interesting commentary on mental health and treatment in the 20s.

Well... I'm a sucker for tragic love but this moved me even less than The Great Gatsby. In theory this would have been great with the mad wife and all but somehow Fitzgerald manages to keep me at a long distance from both the story and the characters.
