What a ride :) I always love Carlos Ruiz Zafon's quirky ideas and gothic plots. This one is not an exception. Not as mysterious and dark as the Shadows of the Wind trilogy, but still.. very engaging. The setting of gothic Barcelona in the 80s is very fitting with the story. I love the main character, Oscar Drai, and his friendship with the beautiful Marina and her aloof father, German. I long for more books like this!
