I'm sorry, but I usually love classics, but I could just not get through this one. I couldn't stand anyone in it, and it went on and on and on and on with people flinging themselves into hysteria and wringing their hands. I really wanted to finish it too, but I just couldn't. I got halfway through, which is better than the last time I tried, but I just have so many other books I really want to read. Maybe I'll try again in 10 years.

I was not impressed with this book, but that does not surprise me. I was not excited about reading it either, but I am starting a new project that includes reading my way through 100 greatest classic lit novels. So I crossed this one off as soon as possible. There are a few others I am not so thrilled about but mostly this is an exciting adventure.

I only rate this at 2 stars because sometimes I was very engaged and at other times I was bored. I think part of my dislike was that i did not connect with these characters, especially Heathcliff. Overall, I'm glad I read it because it's a classic by a woman writer.
