Such a cute story! Definitely not the best novel by Jojo Moyes - but still a lovely enjoyable read.
It's based on facts, this ship really existed which is unbelievable. Learned something new, which is always good :)

I had a very difficult time sticking with this book. The writing style and plotting technique don't make this a book that you can slip into without some determination. However, once I worked my way through the early part I was hooked, and in fact stayed up two hours later than usual to finish. I’ve always been drawn to the stories of the World War II “war brides.” This month I devoured Ship of Brides by JoJo Moyers—a novel she wrote before Me Before You fame hit. The layers of this story were amazing. Not just the tale of how each bride came to be on the ship, but much more than that—how she became who she “is” on that ship. The story is there too of the ship’s Captain, of a Marine and of others. I listened to this as an audio book and found myself dawdling on the drive home to listen

I really enjoyed this book which is based on a true story. I loved the intimate study of the main characters and how we only slowly learn their stories. A compelling read and an interesting story
