"Instructing you, sweet Ista, would be like teaching a falcon to walk up to its prey. It might with great effort be done, but one would end with a very foot-sore and cranky bird and a tedious wait for dinner. With a wing-span like yours, it's ever so much easier just to shake you from my wrist and let you fly."

Anything by Bujold is amazing, and this was no exception. I didn't care as much for Ista, though, as I did Cazaril, the main character of the first book in the series. But the plot, as always, was killer!

How many times have I read this now? I'm really not sure. It's possible, despite how much I love Miles and Cordelia and co., that the Chalion books are my favorites, though it's really hard to rank Bujold in a lot of ways. Anyway, this time around for Paladin, Ista was getting on my nerves a bit, but I still love this book. And Ilvin... yeah, who couldn't fall in love with that man? ;) so, yeah, still good in ebook form.
