What Members Thought

I love me some PKD, but this one was a rough one. Now, my expectations were pretty high. This book has won some substantial awards, I started watching the Amazon show and it's really good, and I've read a couple other PKD books and short stories and really enjoyed them.
At the same time, those other stories and media I consumed had actual plot. The Man in the High Castle doesn't until about the last 20 pages.

Very interesting premise, as always with Mr Dick. Well written, interesting characters. This wasn't at all what I expected, but I really enjoyed the novelty of it. Great willing suspension of belief. I can't wait to see the TV adaptation of this

Strong start
One gripe I have of PKDs work is it just seems to finish. There is very little resolution in his stuff and this is no different.

Amazing world building and commentary on race, commodification of the conquered, and cultural expropriation. Sometimes the focus is on the world rather than on characters and you may feel like: "damn, another character?"
