Hard SF, very well executed, this book has terraforming, species uplift, generation starships as well as a plot spread out over thousands of years. Such a work is immensely hard to pull off and Adrian Tchaikovsky deserves a lot of credit for what he achieved.
There were constant plot twists and alternating chapters between species, which helped keep the pace and energy up throughout the book. The ending was also nicely handled, with a fresh take on humanity's future.
