What Members Thought

I finished this a week or two ago, but my impressions are still quite clear. As with the first one I absolutely loved this book. It had less of the majesty and grandeur of the first book. But General Turyin Mulaghesh is one of my favourite characters in a long while. She's badass. And she's angry.
This world is so rich, so ready for deep stories and intense interactions. I just love it. This is one of my favourite types of stories.

General Turyin Mulaghesh is drawn out of a retirement (by none other than Prime Minister Shara) and entangled in another divine (or not?) mystery on the Continent.
Mulaghesh is a badass -- she is a one-armed soldier who takes on everyone in this, and I continued to love the side characters... but I was on and off bored throughout much of this.
