What Members Thought

I agree with several of the reviews that the book gets pretty dull after Jonathan Harker's last entry at Dracula's castle. The narative becomes especially repetitive after Lucy and Mina are introduced. What made the read-through worth it is the way the themes of modernisation, sexuality, and religion are creatively explored while being "censored" or hidden behind symbolism, word play, and situation.

Loved the first few chapters then it became a chore. I really wish there would have been more of Dracula and less of the often repeating heroes.
