This one gets 5 stars for the sheer fun factor of the book. If you are a geek who lived any part of your life in the '80s you must read this! At first, I wasn't sure about this book. There was a lot of exposition. But when Wade found the first key and met Art3mis, I was in. And the wonderful ending brought it home. Plus, loved the eighties' references, especially the Highlander ones. Oh, my beloved Highlander.

Oh man, I could not put this book down! (Read in 1.5 days although I'm sure someone read it way faster) More enjoyable than I thought it would be and a real 3 tier contest is underway on Ernest Cline's blog. Winner gets a Delorian.

Except it wouldn't have made sense then, because we didn't have MMOS yet back then.

I kind of liked the craptastic future world building and the nostalgia-bomb Willy Wonka/Westing Game-like quest. A sort of fun popcorn read but there's no there there.
