The TV series is better. There, I said it. David Tennant & Michael Sheen were a revelation, tighter plot, and great production value.

The book lost its charm by the second half. The story lines became jumbled, with new small characters being introduced and completely bored me out. Could not care less for Anathema and Newt, Madame Tracy et al. Loved the four bikers of Apocalypse (at first) and the kids, but that's it. The endi ...more

Admittedly, I only got through the first few chapters before I stopped reading it. I was disturbed by this book - it makes a mockery of all things religious, quasi- and otherwise. Really, the only reason I started reading it was because it was dedicated to .G. K. Chesterton. (Unfortunately, that dedication was made by the main demon character from the book.)
