His Majesty's Dragon begins at the end of a victorious battle. Captain William Laurence of the British Navy boards the enemy French ship and finds treasure beyond imaginging - a dragon egg. 4.5 stars. I loved a lot of this book. It's Britain v. France in the Napoleonic wars plus dragons. If you know anything about me, you'll know that the best part was, of course, the dragons. What I really got was a military book that takes place during the Napoleonic wars and just happened to have dragons in it. I thoroughly enjoyed this and am I glad to see it's part of a series! ...more
