So far this has been the most enjoyable of the series. Harry is ssssssllllooooowwwllyyy becoming someone who doesn't lead with is "staff".... BUT still has LONG LONG way to go from being a creep. I await the day where Mr. Butcher doesn't write Harry thinking something sexual or some thought on some woman's body. But I won't hold my breath, I like living. People can say but it's been awhile for him, I'm sorry when he was Susan he was just as bad.

YEA BUTTERS!!! I really LOVE listening to these books, they make my day! I hope he keeps Butters in the storyline because I really enjoyed his character a lot. ...more

With every subsequent book, I think can Harry Dresden get any scarier? Well yes, yes he can! This book is amazing. Harry's growing power is incredible and oh so dangerous to both Harry and the world. What Harry gets put through (think violence against Harry) versus what Harry puts himself through (think mental torment about past decisions) really brings this novel together. I loved the addition of his brother Thomas (from the last book) as well as Waldo Butters (Harry's friend the Medical Examin

Harry Dresden is being blackmailed by the vampire Marva. If he doesn't produce The Word of Kemmler within three days, Halloween night, she'll release damaging information about Murphy. The problem is Harry has no idea what The Word is. Harry is visiting the morgue when the mortician Butters is attacked and Harry figures out The Word is connected to necromancy. This book was definitely more of a world building book than one focusing on an individual case. I liked learning more about Bob's past. M

3.5 stars. Most of the book was confusing and just not very good and I was leaning toward 3 stars. But the end was excellent, of course it wasn't believable, but it was awesome! And I would give the final battles at least 4 stars. So I'm averaging it out to 3.5 stars. But I strongly suggest that you don't give up on it and get to the end!

Harry, zombies, and polka...OH MY! I enjoyed this installment of The Dresden Files...there was A LOT going on and at times it made the story difficult to keep up with. There are some big changes for Harry and I'm curious to see how things play out!
