This is perhaps Dame Christie’s ultimate achievement in mystery-writing.

Ten strangers are invited to a private island off the coast of England. On arrival they find that their mysterious host is not in attendance. Instead he has left a recording to be played after dinner, in which each is accused of having committed a murder in their past. Shortly after this revelation, one of them dies after drinking a whiskey laced with cyanide. The next morning another

Ten strangers were gathered on an isolated island. Each was accused of having committed murder in the past. And Then…

There were None…

The book is a fantastic murder mayhem mystery. There is no Miss Marple. There is no Monsieur Poirot. There are just… murders… mystery… and lots of maybes….

I love the suspense and the wonder of how exactly is the murderer going to be revealed or whether it will be revealed at all. I love Miss Marple & Monsieur Poirot but I reckon this is one of Christie's best work

This was my very first Agatha Christie novel and I have to say that I loved it. It certainly won't be my last novel. The mystery was very brilliantly thought out and I spent most of the book trying to figure out exactly "who dunnit". I debated quiet a few theories and I was half right on one of my theories, but as it was not my final theory, I guess I can't really count myself as correct.

The main problem I had with this book is that I had trouble keeping track of who was who. So many characters

It's official. I do not enjoy dramatized editions of audiobooks. I think I would have enjoyed this book much more if I listened to the unabridged version. Lesson learned. ...more

A wonderful book. The story is incredibly clever. Don't think I've ever read anything so quickly. Normally I skip ahead to find out what's going to happen, but with this one I stopped myself and I'm so glad I did.

I didn't guess who was behind it all, but I didn't care it was just a pure joy to read.

It's a fantastic idea to have an isolated island that begins with a houseful of bodies. It reminded me a little bit of an Inspector Calls - in the way the characters were forced to confront their ow

I found myself engrossed in this story and if it hadn't been for wrapping presents I would have completed it much sooner then the 3 days it took me.

10 people mysteriously invited to Indian Island by their host. A host that no one seems to know, but by the invation is made to look as if they do. It is within a few hours of being on this strangle little island that things start to get interesting. A host no where to be seen, a nursery rhyme about 10 little indians, a recording accusing each guest

4.5 stars. Kept me guessing. Thank goodness for the Epilogue!

Lots of characters to track, but lots of review. I wish I had read the book instead of listening to the audiobook, so I could refer back to the poem and the recorded message.

One of the best-known mystery stories of all time and still a really good read more than 70 years after it was first published, even if it does require an increasing amount of suspension of disbelief. Eight people are invited to a mysterious island where, instead of their expected host, they are greeted only by the butler and cook, a married couple only recently hired. The opening of the book is delightful as we're introduced to each of the characters. On their first night a gramophone recording ...more

Ten people are summoned to an island under false circumstances. After dinner the first night a recording accuses all of them of murder. Soon the inhabitants begin being murdered in connection to a children's rhyme found in everyone's bedrooms. I first read this book in the 1980's and this is my first time re-reading it. Even with that lapse of time I still remembered who the murderer was and some of the plot points. The book is relatively short but masterfully ratchets up the suspense as fewer p ...more
