Alex and Henry, first enemies, but was that animosity hiding something neither wanted to acknowledge? Yes.
They both just have to get to that point (or maybe just Alex does?).
I love how they were forced to be in one another's company after an incident at a wedding, but quickly started communicating with each other just because they wanted to. Alex, clearly didn't realize what was actually happening during these exchanges (and we don't have Henry's pov) until June, or maybe Nora, calls a spade a ...more

I saw the movie (and loved it) before reading the book.
What I enjoyed:
* I love both Alex and Henry. They each had personal and "professional" issues that they overcame with help from their family and friends.
* The story is an emotional rollercoaster
* The supporting characters are awesome, just the type of family and friends you would want in real life (with a couple exceptions like the Queen and brother)
What could have been better:
* I would have liked to see more from Henry's side.

I heard the fuss over this book and it is SO worth it. It's a heartwrenching "how will it ever work out?" enemies-to-lovers romance within a charming and often tongue-in-cheek alternate timeline, with sensitively handled issues of sexuality, race, and responsibility, great side characters, and a good dose of humour.
