I love Neil Gaiman so much. This is one of the last books by him that I haven't read, and it was delightful. I loved Door and the Londons and the side characters so much. I wish there was more to it. I didn't know there was a tv show, and now I want to watch it. As ever, Gaiman never misses. ...more

Neverwhere was a pretty disappointing read, truth be told. I had high hopes based on the many favorable reviews, but I found this was a rather mediocre read. Admittedly, this is my first experience at reading urban fantasy, so maybe I’m missing something, but Neverwhere came across as a generic fantasy (if that’s possible). It is clear this book was written for the 1996 BBC miniseries it is based on because the story seems rushed and jumbled, like it wasn’t given time for proper editing.
