What a wonderful book! I loved it:) This book kept me up into the wee hours of the night. I didn't think I'd like it - the premise was kind of annoying and the hero, Anthony, was arrogant and I didn't like him that much from The Duke and I. Close siblings is a favorite of mine, and I've discovered that the hate-to-love relationship is another favorite; both are seen in abundance. I was laughing out loud during many scenes too, which is always welcome, and also Lady Whistledown's comment 4.5 stars
What a wonderful book! I loved it:) This book kept me up into the wee hours of the night. Well, these two - Anthony and Kate - both had some issues/phobias, which caused problems. Anthony was majorly fearful of death (and loving his wife, who he would leave when he died) and Kate's fear was of thunderstorms. Anthony decided it was time for him to get married (he's going to die pretty soon, according to his calculation) and sets his sights on the beauty of the season - Kate's younger sister, Edwina. This is another less-than-favorite tool used - hero starts off with one sister and ends up with the other sister. Sorry, but I just don't like it. But, fortunately, he wasn't gushy and overly sentimental with Edwina and never caused a breach between the sisters. (view spoiler) So as Anthony is getting ready to set himself up with the beautiful Edwina, Kate hates him because he's a rake and she doesn't want her sister to be hurt/used by him. So the verbal sparring - and even a couple of physical encounters - were hilarious and kept things very entertaining. (view spoiler) It was also cute how Kate's mother and even Anthony's mother seemed like they were encouraging these two. Since they both came from close families, it was adorable how every one of the siblings and mothers were so involved. Honestly, I wanted to smack Anthony after a while because I thought he could have treated Kate better, but he had to face his demons and thankfully, it didn't take too long.

I love when Anthony comes to this realization and tells Kate: "love isn't about being afraid that it will all be snatched away. Love's about finding the one person who makes your heart complete, who makes you a better person than you ever dreamed you could be. It's about looking in the eyes of your wife and knowing, all the way to your bones, that she's simply the best person you've ever known."

There are so many books in this series and I can't wait to read them all! ...more

I've been re-reading and reviewing the Bridgerton Series. In this book, The Viscount Who Loved Me , we have Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of eight siblings, and the title Viscount.

Anthony Bridgerton was devastated when his father suddenly died. He was utterly convinced that he could not surpass his father in any way, including age. However, after realising that he's not getting any younger, Anthony decides to marry and produce an heir. On the condition that she couldn't be anyone with whom he might fall in love, he sets his sights on the season's incomparable Edwina Sheffield. But the problem is, she would not marry without her sister Kate Sheffield's approval. Anthony decided that it would not be a problem. He believes that he can convince Kate.

But he never counted on Edwina's older sister to be hard-headed and infuriatingly alluring. She had made it clear that she didn't like him at all. As Anthony spends time in the company of the Sheffields, the more he realises he's drawn to Kate. He craves her body with an intensity that drives him crazy. Indeed, he can't be falling for her.

I did enjoy Kate and Anthony's story. They were such lovely characters. Julia Quinn knows how to write reform rakes and their romance counterparts as well.

Kate Sheffield is a strong, independent, and wonderful heroine. She's protective of those she loves. I loved her dry sense of humor and her frankness. No dancing around issues for Kate. I also enjoyed her relationship with her sister, Edwina. They have a very close relationship. Another thing I love about Kate is that she goes toe-to-toe with Anthony. She could put him in his place when need be. Anthony, I found his pain, grief, and fears very endearing because they make him a lovely brooding hero.

There's a definite chemistry between Kate and Anthony. They were perfect for each other. I love that they are devoted to their families and have a good, loving relationship with them. These two burned off the pages with their constant bickering, snappy remarks, and witty banter, and their interactions were just so good to read. It’s so much fun and so real.

Overall, The Viscount, who loves me, is a delightfully charming romance novel. An enjoyable story that will satisfy any romantic heart. ...more
