I love the suspense and the wonder of how exactly is the murderer going to be revealed or whether it will be revealed at all. I love Miss Marple & Monsieur Poirot but I reckon this is one of Christie's best work ...more

I read this book many years ago, and after discovering the Classic Double Challenge, decided to reread it. And Then There Were None was written by Agatha Christie and was originally published in 1939. The retelling, which I will read and review later, is Ten by Gretchen McNeil.

In high school I was in the play written from this mystery story. I have not read the book until now. I figured that the play necessarily had to be different than the book but it is wonderful how closely it follows this delightful Agatha Christie mystery. Ten people are found dead on an island after being isolated for several days. One of the clues is a phonograph record accusing each of them of having gotten away with murder. So what happened?

Ten people are summoned to an island under false circumstances. After dinner the first night a recording accuses all of them of murder. Soon the inhabitants begin being murdered in connection to a children's rhyme found in everyone's bedrooms. I first read this book in the 1980's and this is my first time re-reading it.
