gorgeous cover. And the story is pretty original. At least, I'd never read a book with a similar plot
it held my attention and kept me interesting

but Evie could be mildly immature and annoying at times. It probably made her more realistic but it was still annoying.

I plan to continue the series - just to see where it goes from here. ...more

First impressions: I have to admit that with the number of people hoisting accolades upon Evie, I didn't want to like her. Or this book. Evie is like the super-popular girl at your new school that everyone says is so nice, but you don't believe them because anyone that popular, and pretty, and cool, cannot possibly also be nice.

But I can admit when I'm wrong. Evie is amazing.

Lasting impressions: The plot may be forgettable, but Evie and Reth and Lend are not. Or Lish. Or Raquel. Or David. Let' ...more

I liked Evelyn (or Evie). She's mostly upbeat and positive, and there isn't a lot of angst. She's mostly content with her life at the International Paranormal Containment Agency (IPCA). Her best friend is Lish, a paranormal who works at the Center, and she has a mother-daughter like relationship with the head of the Center, Raquel. Evie would love to hang around with normal sixteen-year-olds and do normal 16-year-old-type things like go to a real high ...more

Pretty original. Paranormal Agency, sort of like an FBI, but not as strict. This story is about a girl of unknown origin who can see through paranormal glamours. Enter a guy she captured committing a crime. I'm rooting for them two, and he's so nice :) Good story! ...more
